Father and Son Excited About The Future Of Santa Monica Airport

Paul takes his son Chris to learn about planes at Santa Monica Airport On a nice afternoon in January two local residents, Chris and Paul visited the Santa Monica Airport to learn more about becoming a pilot.

Chris (7yrs) has been into remote control airplanes for the last few years. His father, Paul, has been a resident for about four years. Although Paul doesn't work in aviation, he's thrilled for his son to learn more about airplanes.

"Like most kids, Chris is naturally drawn to aviation. As a parent, I'm excited that this will teach him discipline and responsibility" Paul said during his visit.

Charlie Thompson is the President of Santa Monica Flyers and was nice enough to donate some time to teach Chris about the new fuel efficient, quiet Light Sport Cruiser Aircraft.

"It's exciting to see kids' eyes light up when they get to move the controls and learn about each of the instruments on the panel. You can't get this kind of excitement in a classroom, a kid needs to sit in the airplane and see how it all works" said Charlie.
